We are seeking an experienced Electrical Draughtsman or Engineer to join our team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for generating high quality, cost effective industrial control systems for water irrigation pumping, while ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards, client specifications, and company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Experience designing low voltage (less than 1000V; 1ph and 3ph) industrial control panels; using programmable logic control systems, advanced control techniques using VFDs, cellular remote monitoring systems, and power monitoring software systems.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD-Electrical (version 2023 experience desirable), creating schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and other electrical engineering documents.
- Working knowledge of applicable USA codes and standards, especially NEC, JIC, IEC, CE, UL, NEMA, IEEE, and NFPA is beneficial.
Familiar with power distribution, transformers, and service switches. - Experience with electrical enclosures and/or sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Strong computer skills; must be proficient with Excel; Microsoft Office preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional command of the English language
- Willingness to travel to internationally and to collaborate with the Hartland-based team.
- Experience in the water supply industry preferred, but not required.
- Medium voltage experience is adv.
