New membership category - Landscape |
SABI has recently enhanced its own membership categories by expanding to offer landscape irrigation and contractor membership options. SABI serves the entire spectrum of irrigation in South Africa, and we are proud to be welcoming new landscape members to SABI. It is great that all players in irrigation share a passion for water conservation and the optimum use of Irrigation technology in South Africa. |

Do remember to visit your SABI website at www.sabi.co.za - it’s your window to irrigation opportunities and information.
Increasingly, recruitment consultants are using the SABI website to advertise job opportunities in irrigation. Consider using the website for your job advertisements – this approach has proved successful for several companies seeking irrigation talent. |

Get ready for SABI Congress 2017 – Western Cape
Can you believe it is almost time again for the next SABI Congress? In fact you soon will receive the First Announcement for the SABI Congress, which will take place during August 2017 in the Western Cape. |
SABI Magazine – coming up |
You will soon receive your August September edition of SABI magazine, which features Greenhouses and Variable Speed Drives. Visit the wine estate Alleé Bleue’s undercover herb farm with us, read about the “herb cowboys” growing aeroponics on rooftops in Israel and Chinese greenhouses growing healthy produce. We also take you to a farm in Stellenbosch’s Devon Valley Fransmankraal, where citrus is being grown undercover in net house structures. We have great technical reads written by SABI members Jerry Austen and John Starke, on the topics of greenhouses and VSDs respectively.
We review a new book about SABI stalwart member Charles Crosby’s 60 Year Career in agricultural engineering. Charles Crosby wrote this informative and readable book from his well-deserved retirement in the Strand, and completed it this year. He is busy on his next writing project!

More SABI initiatives
We are promoting irrigation as a career in the SA Career Guide, which is aimed at learners and youth looking to decide on a career path. We believe it is important to encourage South African youth into irrigation in our country.
Every year we advertise and promote SABI in the Farmer’s Diary, we have just completed our contribution to the Farmer’s Diary 2017. We hope our designers and members in the agricultural sector benefit greatly from this platform. |
