SABI has recently enhanced its own membership categories by expanding to offer landscape irrigation and contractor membership options. SABI serves the entire spectrum of irrigation in South Africa, and we are proud to be welcoming new landscape members to SABI. It is great that all players in irrigation share a passion for water conservation and the optimum use of Irrigation technology in South Africa.

SABI is now a member of SAGIC (South African Green Industries Council), and is happy to be part of the Green family.

SABI recently attended the SAGIC Convention in Stellenbosch and promoted SABI with a display of SABI products at the event.

We had our first Landscape Irrigation course in Stellenbosch in May this year, the Landscape irrigation installation course.  Do look out for more SABI IrrigationWise Training landscape courses in 2017.

Why not start planning your 2017 training now, and be ahead of the game. T he 2017 Training brochure will be available by the first week of December. 

As soon as it is complete it will be available on www.sabi.co.za.

Increasingly, recruitment consultants are using the SABI website to advertise job opportunities in irrigation. Consider using the website for your job advertisements – this approach has proved successful for several companies seeking irrigation talent.

We review a new book about SABI stalwart member Charles Crosby’s 60 Year Career in agricultural engineering. Charles Crosby wrote this informative and readable book from his well-deserved retirement in the Strand, and completed it this year. He is busy on his next writing project!

Remember that SABI mag is now being distributed at all the major airports in South Africa, giving SABI members, products and services excellent publicity – our distributors report that the SABI magazines are moving very well at the newsstands at the airports.

At the last branch meeting in the Western Cape, two gentleman SABI stalwarts, Ben Costerus and Peter Cherry attended – it was inspiring to hear how they have been in the irrigation sector for over 40 years!
